“Boldface” (2018)

“Boldface” expresses my desire to be understood by others, as well as being bold and true to myself. The title “Boldface” is a play on words referencing typography. The cat’s tail is held up high, showing confidence and cheerfulness. The pink is soft, reflecting sensitivity, stability, and passion. The turquoise and pink complement each other in their opposite natures. I was once told I had a turquoise-colored aura. The color turquoise has since held a place in my heart as a color that represents me. The cat is based off of my aunt’s cat, Sevoog, who was authentically herself, and had a bold personality.
